Every story has an ending, but in life,
every ending is a new beginning...
(Don't know who said this, but I like it!)
Our family went through a big life change in December. We packed up the only house our kids really ever knew after 13 years, and moved about 11 miles up the road.
We weren't really looking to move, but when we received a letter in the mail from a realtor with clients interested in buying our home we were intrigued. We thought, "why not show the house and see what happens?"
Our son had just started high school and was getting on the bus at 6:50am for a 35 minute bus ride, so the idea of maybe moving closer to the high school seemed like a good idea. Not to mention all the after school football practices that would require a lot of driving on my part. So, we began the house hunt.
We found this new house, in a great neighborhood, RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL!
To make a long story short, the clients that were initially interested in our house made an offer, but we decided to officially put it on the market and see what kind of response we would get. We showed the house to several others before accepting an offer in November.
And, we started our "new beginning".....(with some unhappiness from our kids). I have to admit, it wasn't easy for them to leave the only house they'd really ever known. My hope was that they would see the benefits of being close to their high school eventually. And, 6 months later, I think they do. They may not admit it, but I think they do.
